Mary’s Island
The Renton’s
decide to spend Christmas at mum’s new house in north
Norfolk little knowing that the two crooks who caused them
so much trouble in the last adventure, have escaped from
prison and have sworn revenge on the family and their
protector, Sir Hugh de Quy.
Snowed in by the heaviest fall of snow for years, the
family can only sit it out and hope for the best. Hope that
the two crooks will soon be found and returned to prison;
the trouble is that Brian and his pal Weasel have found a
safe refuge on Mary’s Island, just off the coast. At least
they were safe on the island until a storm springs up from
nowhere and leaves them trapped with little chance of
getting off the island and back to the mainland. In
desperation, the two men seek another way off the island
and manage to find a tunnel that leads all the way to the
cellars of the mansion house on Mary’s land. Little do they
realise that Sir Hugh is at the mansion with the family and
is aware of what they are up to.
The secret opening to the tunnel is eventually found by
young Mark and the adventure begins in earnest. Will Sir
Hugh be in time to save the boys from being imprisoned deep
underground? Or will they remain unfound until it is too
late to save them? Only the ancient knight and the sword of
Richard the Lionheart can save the day.
